Party people in the house
Despite my concerns, I must admit that last night was a good time. Thanks to Little E for playing hostess. How in the world we didn't get any noise complaints is beyond me. There is no way to remember the eclectic playlist of last night--I do recall some Nina Simone, Al Green, Barry White, Guns n'Roses, Juvenile, Snoop, Dre, and of course the always-present Judds.
I didn't overdo it like last time we partied in the RC, when I pretty much blacked out before I even left. That was a fucking asswhip. It's what I call a Nick Nolte kind of night:
This time, I stuck primarily with beer, had less than 10 shots, and only one mixed beverage (a rum and coke). I did burn through almost a pack of smokes, and my lungs are really thanking me for it now. I love a good hacking cough. It gives you insight into what you'll be like when you're 60. **Maybe the platypus came about after a night of smoking way too many cigarettes.
Thanks, Jesus.
We all had a good time (or so it seemed). We had a couple of group newbies hang around for the after party, and hopefully they didn't consider us too obnoxious or whatever. And it did work out with only two guys there (myself and Daniel --not the
Goose), but there really wasn't a tremendous amount of male-bashing going on, and I appreciated that.
There was one question that arose during the night that I might answer in a later blog. It was a continuation of a discussion from Thursday night between a few people about white guys and women from different ethnicities and whether or not it was a postcolonial issue. But anyway, more on this subject later.

I just posted about that conversation on my blog, given the fact that I wasn't very eloquent last night and did not get to finish the discussion.
I read your post. I'm disappointed that you're only giving one side.
A post about the other side is forthcoming.
I've got quite a bit to say on this issue, but I want to hear you out first.
